Bike racks commissioned for John Eaton Elementary School in Washington, DC. The four racks tell a story with a series of images of a self-important crow pushing and pulling to “help” the sun rise. Did the sun really need assistance? I left room for kids to come up with their own stories to explain what’s going on.
I chose sunrise as my theme because elementary school is a place of beginnings, and because increasing light is a common symbol for learning.
The racks vary in height to accommodate different size bikes and scooters.
